Bio

A native New Yorker, Brian Lee studied architecture and photography at The City College of New York. His exposure to design while working for architectural firm Davis and Brody and his stint with The Historic American Building Survey (HABS) led him naturally to photography as an aside from documenting architectural projects thru photographs. His recent images concentrate on panoramic views.

Mr. Lee's photography encompasses night photography, nature, landscape vistas, travel, existing light cityscapes, sports and Disneyworld. His favorite photographic format is panoramic and mosaic imaging. Though todays DSLR cameras has expanded dynamic range of 12 to 14 stops, much greater than digital DSLR.s dating back just a few years, there is still the need to shoot from time to time for HDR post-production in certain situations to more closely match the 24 stop range of the human eye.  The mosaics and panoramics produced are static subjects recorded in one or several rows with the use of a dedicated panoramic head when photographing subjects with foreground information.  The images shown here are equivalent to 250+MP capture at 300DPI. Mr. Lee is always looking for additional ways of expressing the world he sees around him, and is currently adding time lapse photography and focus stacking to his work flow.

Currently Mr. Lee is a resident of Center Moriches, NY. His work has been exhibited locally throughout Suffolk County. He taught basic photography for the Town of Riverhead NY in 2009 thru 2015 and he also taught basic photography for Brookhaven Town in 2012 thru 2014. Mr. Lee is a member of the Brookhaven Humanities and Arts Council and the East End Arts Council.
